The Project forms part of a broader initiative of Solomon Islands Electricity Authority (SIEA), trading as Solomon Power, the state-owned enterprise responsible for energy generation and distribution within the Solomon Islands. The Solar panels are mounted on custom made car garage and fed directly into the SIEA grid. It is a pilot project that addresses renewable and environmentally friendly energy source. SIEA is working to promote cleaner energy sources in the future through the planning and development of other similar projects with Aid partners and the Government.
