JSC Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE) is a power transmission system operator. Our company owns and operates 3,550 km power transmission lines and 93 substations all over the country. Transmission network is controlled by the National Dispatch Center, and the maintenance by the 3 regional networks (East, West and Kakheti regional networks).
GSE also manages the cross-border transmission lines interconnecting with the neighboring countries: Russia, Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan. GSE is a joint-stock company owned by the LEPL National Agency of State Property, while its management rights are transferred to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The project recognizes that Azerbaijan and Georgia have excess generating capacity and Turkey has a rapidly growing demand for electricity. Turkey is in the final phase of testing for synchronous operation with ENTSO-E, providing an export route to Europe for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey in the near future.
