Which charge method is best for Cyclon® battery cells?
Constant voltage (CV) charging is the conventional method for charging lead-acid cells, and is acceptable for CYCLON® battery cells. However, constant current (CC), taper current and variations thereof can also be used.
Can a Cyclon battery be charged in a gas-tight container?
batteries SHOULD NEVER BE CHARGED IN A GAS-TIGHT CONTAINER. CYCLON batteries have very low internal impedance and thus are capable of delivering high currents if externally short circuited. The resultant heat can cause severe burns and is a potential fire hazard.
Do Cyclon batteries self-discharge?
It is important to recognize that the self-discharge rate of CYCLON batteries is non-linear. Thus, the rate of self- discharge changes as the SOC of the cell changes. In other words, the time taken for a cell to discharge from a 100% SOC to 90% SOC is very different from the time it takes to self-discharge from a 20% SOC to a 10% SOC.
